My favorite charities are the ones that help children and their families. Here are two I have been a part of over the years.
Christian Appalachian Project was founded by a Catholic priest, Father Ralph W. Beiting, who started this project with little money and a lot of faith. One of the first things Father Beiting did was to provide, not only for the physical needs of children and their families, but preschool and adult education. He was a man with vision like Maria Montessori.
The second charity we have enjoyed is CCF. We have had 3 foster children from India and Guatemala.
You get to know the children and their families through exchanging letters.
It’s amazing what each person can do in a small way to make the world a better place.
Giving to children is giving to our future hope.
